Dihua Street

Located in the Datong District of Taipei City, Dihua Street was once the busiest street in the old Dadaocheng Business Circle. Stretching 800 meters, Dihua Street is now the best-preserved old street in Taipei City, where the facades of the building have been purposely preserved and repaired. From the facades of the old street house, there are four main architectural styles along Dihua Street. *The Minnan style street houses, which are mainly single-story structures with tiled slanting roofs and wooden doors and windows, are the oldest architecture built based on the style of Zhangzhou craftsmanship. Street houses of this architectural style are mainly found on Yuanzhong North Street (North Street). Among the street houses, the structure of Wang Jui-Hsing Company is most elaborate, which features characteristic hallway, attic, roof, window screens and flat facilities design.

Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple

The temple was built in 1856. Located in Da-Dao Cheng, a port city that at the time was one of the better-developed areas in Taiwan, the Xia-Hai City God temple ensures prosperity and peace through its blessings. Nowadays young people come to pray for a happy love life and good job. Every year the temple holds the annual “ City God Birthday Parade” on May 13th, a celebration that is classified as an intangible asset by Taipei City government.
